I want to be that mother who can stand up and say I am a strong confident mother and I know what is best for my children. We breastfeed and co sleep, We listen, We include, We eat chocolate and snot smoothies, we trampoline and grow frogs, we sling, we carry and we try and understand and work with our children without resorting to punishments, threats or coercion.

No one is born in the wrong body. Fired Up one more time

The fucking Lancet are in on it now.....some fantastic responses from Posie Parker, Millie Hill and many more...add your WOMAN MOUTH WORDS.........✊😡

I became so fired up by this tweet and the responses from thousands upon thousands that I decided to take one last step.

After stopping discussing with my children or mentioning anything remotely about the dying off of women, feminism, misogyny, transing children, the terrible terrible agenda that is going on behind it all. I decided to have one last try.

I sat with them both and basically said, I want you to read this thread and understand the issue that is being presented here. Erasure of WOMAN right in front of your eyes from a well respected long running medical paper.

I was so sad that we have come so far but not far enough that our children have been pawned for it to come to this.

I did my best to talk to them about how important this issue has become in the outer world world that there are people out there being persecuted and fired for speaking the truth. How biology really cannot simply be changed by saying so.

Brings out the worst in people

I have had hostility and  condemnation thrown at me all week and I'm here to tell you I'm not taking any more of it.

Hostility because of my different beliefs regarding what I eat and what I will and won't put on and in my body. I have educated and informed myself and made decision with regards to ethical, moral and health concerns.

The fact is, it's my choice and your hostility only furthers my beliefs that your ignorance has no place in my life.

Furthermore, the fact that I am Zionist does not give you the right to condemn me and vilify me and overtly blame me for all and any terrorist attacks that have occurred recently or will do in the future. When you think that me being a Jewish means I also think Palestinian citizens deserve to be treated in a certain way then it is you who needs to reevaluate your core beliefs and stop being antisemitic and stop believing propaganda.

YOUR inciting hatred and disgraceful behavior is the reason there is so much pain, anger and hurt in the world.

Take your lunacy elsewhere.

I DO NOT ACCEPT OR WANT IT!

Done

I'm having negative thoughts tonight again. I'm trying to write it out to turn it around but it's like I can never get away from the fear of my girls having the same emotional unhappiness I experienced day in day out whilst growing up. The lack of control over my life. The lack of direction. The lack of knowledge despite the massive pressurising push towards qualifications.  The lack of skills.  The lack of esteem. The lack of confidence. The pressure of conformity. The pressure of failure.  The pressure to not be a nobody to be so much more. The confusion. The complication. The hurt.  The pain. The upset. The feeling wrong inside. The drink. The drugs. The self abuse.

Actually my kids can have the sex, the drugs and the rock and roll!!!

I've always been led to believe that everyone does the right thing in the end. That goodness will out. That it will all turn out ok in the end. That everything works itself out eventually. That everything will be ok. (except for the exception to the rules of course!)

How can you ever know that the right thing is the right thing?

What if 'your' right thing is often so diametrically opposed to almost everyone around you?

Should I compromise my beliefs to make life easier for myself even if I believe it is damaging to do so?

Would you?

You see, the thing I didn't mention was...

You see, the thing that I haven't mentioned is that I shouted too. I was very angry and outraged that some random shopkeeper would shout at my girls and was even angrier that he was not even feeling the slightest remorse, in fact he felt he HAD to.  When I called him up later to let him know, he all but said they deserved to be bawled at from half way across the shop.  I mean how else are they going to learn that being loud is sometimes unacceptable??!!! I know he was stressed and busy...but hell aren't we all at times, it doesn't mean the kids should cop it. "Children reflect the treatment they receive"

I've been focusing too much on the guilt of me doing it too(again)(and in public), of humiliating them and me. So much was I focussing on the negative, which I have a dreadful tendency to do, I was forgetting that I got everyone up and out the door without any shouting, coercing and nagging.  It was an easier morning because the girls weren't at school today due to late night ear pain and awakenings and sore noses from picking so G-damn bloody much.  I digress.  We first took the dog for a walk, fresh air a must when not feeling great, then we went to the hairdressers because Ellie an unexpected burst of enthusiasm about hair cutting (in other words, she didn't change her mind, again) and then to the dreaded deli, after consuming chocolate and potato scones. In hindsight, I see now it was the end of a long day of high stimulation. They were hungry. I was tired and under pressure. I was having a ridiculous conversation with the woman behind the counter who was being quite unhelpful and obstructive especially given my lack of cooking and storing of frozen foods knowledge.

I should have stopped. Taken a breath. Taken them outside and calmly explained that they could not run round the shop and they needed to stop making so much noise. I should have removed them from the situation. Told them they had to stay outside or go back in the car but that they could not come back inside the shop at that moment.

What annoys me most is that the majority of people think its normal and ok to shout at children and feel justified in doing so. Most people feel no remorse for their behaviour or even consider apologising for shouting and being mean unnecessarily. I do think it was. Unnecessary.

Most people that I have spoken too, have a memory of being shouted at by someone other than parents and their lingering memory is fear and upset.  How can that be positive?

Meltdowns - hardly any
Losing the Plot - a big ole public one..oh the shame...
Breastfeeding - still going strong.  I'd have loved to have seen the reaction had I needed to do it in that shop!
